Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in San Antonio, TX is seeking a qualified perinatal nurse to provide independent care in a perinatal setting. The RN will perform nursing processes, administer medications, and educate patients and families to support optimal outcomes.

Preferred BSN, RN license in Texas, and certified training including BLS and NRP. STABLE certification and perinatal experience are strongly valued; orientation and competency validation will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Uses nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.

• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers.
