Job summary

CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio, TX seeks a competent perinatal nurse who can practice independently and deliver routine and complex care, while developing long-range goals and contingencies for clinical situations. You will delegate to team members to manage the clinical context and ensure quality care.

Responsibilities include nursing assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation, addressing diverse patient needs, documenting details, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and/or caregivers.
