Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texarkana, TX seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to provide independent nursing care in a perinatal setting. You will apply the nursing process, administer treatments, monitor patient responses, document care, and educate families as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements include a BSN preferred, 1 year of relevant experience, BLS, and Texas (or compact) RN licensure. Schedule is 7AM–7PM, per diem as needed; new nurses orientation within 30 days and ongoing competency

Qualifications

• BSN preferred
• RN licensed in Texas or compact state
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience in related specialty preferred
• Perinatal RN residency or recent practice in perinatal setting preferred
• New nurses orientation within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educates patients and families; identifies learning needs and resources for care.
