Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Perinatal/Neonatal RN to provide independent nursing care, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients in a perinatal setting. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring treatments, and documenting patient history and care outcomes.

The role requires a BSN (preferred), BLS, RN license in the state or compact, and relevant certifications (NRP, ACLS, AWHONN FHM, PALS, TNCC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• NRP and ACLS certifications required; fetal monitoring certifications encouraged.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements within stated grace periods.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex needs of patients and families per practice level.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.
