Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX is seeking a Perinatal RN to provide both routine and complex care in a perinatal setting. The nurse will practice independently, delegate as needed, and support long-range goals for patient care.

Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation, medication administration, documentation, and patient-family education. A BSN is preferred and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in the perinatal nursing specialty preferred.
• BSN preferred; RN license in state of employment or compact.
• BLS required; NRP and ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
