Almara Maternal Fetal, part of Almara Women’s Health, seeks a perinatal genetic counselor to deliver high-quality counseling under physician supervision at our Edina, MN location. The role emphasizes educating patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Genetic Counseling with ABGC certification on hire, and state licensure in Minnesota. Prior perinatal experience is preferred; compensation reflects experience and full scope of duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Master’s level genetic counseling program.
• American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Boards of Medical Genetics Certificate upon hire.
• Two or more years of Perinatal Genetic Counseling preferred.
• Fulfill the expectations for a Genetic Counselor as outlined by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
• Licensed as a Genetic Counselor by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide genetic counseling for patients under supervision or in consultation with a physician.
• Counsel patients and families on genetic risk factors and family history.
• Coordinate serum screening, molecular testing or carrier detection screening.
• Develop educational materials for patients and health professionals.
• Interact professionally with health team members and reflect cultural differences.
