Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Peri-Anesthesia Registered Nurse to provide autonomous nursing care in the 2nd-floor Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and to float to the new East Campus ECT unit.

The position requires PACU and Charge Nurse experience, a California RN license, BLS/CPR and ACLS at hire with ART within six months, and PALS within six months. On-site at East Campus in San Diego with potential cross-coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six months.
• PALS (must be obtained within 6 months of hire date).
• Minimum of 2 years PACU experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years Charge Nurse experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled autonomic nursing care to patients in PACU.
• Float to the ECT unit at East Campus when needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
