Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Perfusionist to join a multidisciplinary cardiac team delivering advanced cardiovascular care in Charlottesville, VA. You will provide cardiopulmonary bypass and perfusion support, operate perfusion equipment, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses to ensure safe, coordinated care.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited perfusion program, certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Perfusion is required.
• American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certification; new grads certified within four exam offerings and within 24 months of hire date.
• American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiopulmonary bypass and perfusion support for cardiac procedures.
• Prepare, operate and manage perfusion equipment according to clinical standards.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe, coordinated care.
• Support a cardiac program including CABG, valve surgery, aortic procedures, heart transplantation, VADs, and complex surgery.
• Contribute perfusion expertise to a multidisciplinary team emphasizing communication, precision, readiness and teamwork.
