Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a perfusionist to support the operating room with care, maintenance, assembly and operation of electronic physiological pressure monitoring equipment including IABP systems and autologous blood salvaging systems. The role includes performing laboratory tests for open-heart patients and ensuring equipment maintenance for the perfusion service.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred.
• Completion of Intra Aorta Balloon Pump (IABP) certification program and/or minimum of one year previous IAPB experience.
• Analytical ability required in order to set-up, calibrate, operate, and maintenance various equipment.
• Manual dexterity required to work with finely detailed circuitry components and systems.
• Visual/hearing/verbal abilities required in order to operate equipment and assist during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Care, maintenance, assembly and operation of electronic physiological pressure monitoring equipment in the operating room, intra-aortic balloon pumping systems, autologous blood salvaging systems and other related systems.
• Provides laboratory test in the operating room for open-heart patients.
• Provides maintenance and cleaning of equipment for perfusion services.
• Performs other related duties as required.
