Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a perfusion support professional to care for and assemble electronic physiological monitoring equipment in the operating room. The role includes running laboratory tests for open-heart patients and maintaining perfusion equipment in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Associates Degree preferred with IABP certification or equivalent experience, plus strong analytical and dexterity skills to calibrate and operate intricate systems during procedures.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred.
• Intra Aorta Balloon Pump (IABP) certification program and/or minimum of one year previous IABP experience.
• Analytical ability required to set-up, calibrate, operate, and maintain various equipment.
• Manual dexterity required to work with finely detailed circuitry components and systems.
• Visual/hearing/verbal abilities required in order to operate equipment and assist during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Care, maintenance, assembly and operation of electronic physiological pressure monitoring equipment in the operating room.
• Provide laboratory tests in the operating room for open-heart patients.
• Provide maintenance and cleaning of equipment for perfusion services.
• Performs other related duties as required.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision provides care, maintenance, assembly and operation of electronic physiological pressure monitoring equipment in the operating room, intra-aortic balloon pumping systems, autologous blood salvaging systems and other related systems. Provides laboratory test in the operating room for open-heart patients. Provides maintenance and cleaning of equipment for perfusion services. Performs other related duties as required.

• Completion of Intra Aorta Balloon Pump (IABP) certification program and/or minimum of one year previous IAPB experience.
