Position Summary

We seek a Performing Arts Instructor responsible for creating an educational environment that promotes students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. The instructor will organize and implement a curriculum that enables students to achieve academic and artistic success. Responsibilities include teaching dance classes to grades 4-8, supporting choreography for school events like Novemberfest and the Celebration of Dance, and assisting with musical productions across all school levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a dance curriculum aligned with departmental expectations.
• Engage students actively in meaningful learning experiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues on theatre and dance productions.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff.
• Create and maintain course documentation, aligning vertically with other curricula.
• Coordinate with the Director of Performing Arts on student eligibility and course requirements.
• Attend division, department, and production meetings.
• Potentially serve as an advisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Performing Arts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience preferred.
• At least three years of teaching in an independent school or similar setting.
• Strong background in curriculum development and discipline-specific instruction.

Physical Demands
