Job summary

CHAMP is seeking an experienced Performance Testing Engineer to design, implement, and run performance tests ensuring our cloud-based platform scales under load. You will collaborate with development and QA to optimize release pipelines and deliver reliable, fast software for motor vehicle agencies and stakeholders.

The role requires 5–7 years in testing, 3+ years in performance testing, and hands-on experience with JMeter or K6, plus monitoring with New Relic, CloudWatch, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in a test engineering role with 3+ years of hands-on performance testing experience
• Proven track record of success with real-world examples
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6 or similar
• Experience analyzing error logs (e.g., CloudWatch)
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AWS)
• Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar tools
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance test plans and scripts (load, stress, soak, spike) using JMeter, K6, or similar
• Identify bottlenecks and provide data using test reports, error logs, and monitoring tools
• Analyze results, produce reports, and create dashboards
• Collaborate with devs to integrate performance testing into the release pipeline via GitHub Actions
• Maintain and troubleshoot performance test environments and data
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies

Job Title: Performance Testing Engineer

Location: Cleveland Ohio - Onsite (4 days in office)

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: Manager of QA & Automation

CHAMP is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Performance Testing Engineer to assist in all areas of our performance testing efforts including, but not limited to, design, implementation, execution, analysis and reporting. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and execute test plans and scripts for all types of performance testing (load, stress, soak/endurance, spike, volume, etc.) utilizing Jmeter, K6, or similar.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and provide data to support those findings utilizing test reports, error logs, monitoring tools and more. (new relic, aws, cloudwatch)
• Analyze results, generate reports and create custom reporting dashboards.
• Collaborate with dev teams to integrate performance testing into the release pipeline utilizing github actions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot performance test environments and performance test data.
• Continuously improve performance testing processes and methodologies.

Requirements Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years of experience in a test engineering role with at least 3+ years of hands-on performance testing experience
• Proven track record of success (with real-world examples).
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6 or similar.
• Experience analyzing error logs (e.g., CloudWatch or similar tools).
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AWS)
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands on performance testing experience in accordance with best standards and practices.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 annually. This is a good faith estimate, and final compensation may vary based on experience and skills.
