Job summary

TEKsystems in Lansing, MI is seeking a Contract-to-Hire Performance Test Engineer to read, analyze and interpret performance test requests and collaborate with IT leadership to understand system functionality.

You will design, develop and maintain automation for performance tests using tools like JMeter and NeoLoad, and monitor performance with IBM Instana, Splunk and other tools. Documentation and progress tracking will be done in Confluence and JIRA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/IT or equivalent experience.
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to utilize a PC and work within a performance testing suite.
• Capability to learn new software tools and organize, analyze and interpret data.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines, and be a self-starter on new projects.

Responsibilities

• Read, analyze and interpret performance testing requests.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, project managers, architects and IT leadership to understand system functionality.
• Review performance testing requests, test plans and test results with stakeholders.
• Design, develop and maintain automation processes and scripts for performance tests using tools like JMeter and NeoLoad.
• Use monitoring tools (e.g., IBM Instana, SentryOne, Splunk) to track performance metrics and trends.
• Coordinate execution of performance tests; some testing may occur outside normal hours.
• Document results using Confluence and track work in JIRA.
