Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking software developers in performance engineering to optimize open-source and cloud-native databases within AWS Aurora.

You will advance cloud infrastructure innovations and deliver software optimizations that fully exploit cloud capabilities. As part of the Aurora team, you will design and implement high-performance software, collaborate across teams, and push the PostgreSQL engine and storage integration to new limits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Strong OO design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative software solutions to further enhance performance, availability, and durability of Amazon Aurora.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers to push the PostgreSQL engine and storage integration.
• Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to best practices.
• Contribute to design and implementation of new features and functionalities within Aurora.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues related to Aurora's functionality.
• Stay up-to-date on latest advancements in database technologies and PostgreSQL developments.
