Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an entrepreneurial professional to join the Institutional Reporting Team within IIS. You will maintain accurate data in performance reporting systems, automate processes, and deliver timely reports for institutional and ultra-high net worth clients.

Responsibilities include reconciling investments, processing large datasets, and collaborating with client coverage teams, advisory professionals, and custodians while continuously improving reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years portfolio accounting or investment reporting experience serving institutional and ultra-high net worth clients.
• Firm understanding of portfolio management concepts including modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, risk management and performance attribution.
• Experience with investment reporting platforms a plus (Addepar, Investment Metrics).
• Experience with complex datasets and relational databases; SQL/Python/Excel VBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Compile and generate monthly and quarterly performance reports, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy through self-audit.
• Manually capture and reconcile alternative investment transactions and valuations into designated systems and spreadsheets.
• Develop programs to automate processes and handle large data sets for reporting.
• Process, review and resolve exception items to ensure accurate reporting of client investments.
• Review investment activity, performance, and cash flows daily to ensure data quality across accounts and entities.
• Plan and prioritize assignments to meet high standards of timeliness and accuracy.
• Engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to provide timely feedback and solutions.
• Utilize group systems, platforms and processes to improve reporting efficiency.
• Identify gaps and propose training/development opportunities for team members.
• Participate in training programs to stay current on policies, procedures and risk.
