Job summary

AVEVA is seeking a Software Development Engineer – Performance & Reliability to join our Lake Forest-based team. You’ll own the PSR framework, run large-scale load tests, and help ensure the IoT cloud platform scales reliably across distributed microservices.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in software testing, strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills, and hands-on with k6, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as Azure.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software development in test.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and hands-on k6 experience (2+ years).
• Proven experience testing large-scale distributed architecture with 1000+ concurrent virtual users.
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of REST, HTTP/2, and gRPC under load.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), OAuth 2.0/OIDC, and identity management.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the k6-based PSR Framework, including test architecture, authentication strategies, scenario builders, and reporting.
• Design and execute large-scale performance tests (load, soak, stress, spike) against distributed microservice architectures.
• Build Agentic AI workflows that automate test generation, execution, and intelligent result analysis using LLM-powered agents.
• Integrate and maintain automated performance pipelines in Azure DevOps with quality gates and stage-based reporting.
• Provide technical consultancy and mentorship to the offshore PSR team and internal development teams.
