Job summary
Columbus Crew is seeking a Manager of Performance (Player Development) to drive the physical development pathway for youth players across the academy, Crew2, and emerging talents. This full-time role emphasizes establishing science-based benchmarks, leading performance staff, and coordinating with medical and coaching teams to maximize athlete potential.
The position requires a strong background in exercise science, elite youth development experience, and recognized strength/conditioning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in related field (preferred).
- At least 3 years with elite youth athletes (required).
- CSCS/UKSCA/ASCA or equivalent certification (required).
- CPSS certification (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead performance space for emerging talents, Crew2 and academy.
- Develop and deliver physical development plans for youth players.
- Create reports on physical components across levels.
- Coordinate with medical and performance staff in meetings.
- Oversee load management, injury prevention, and RTP planning.
- Provide leadership to Crew2 and Academy performance staff.
