Job summary

PIMCO is seeking a Performance Operations Associate to oversee daily performance across hedge funds and other alternative accounts. You will investigate inquiries from internal stakeholders and develop tools to proactively identify anomalies, partnering with technology teams and outsourced service providers.

The role offers work across multiple teams including technology, analytics, risk, operations, and portfolio management, with locations in Austin, TX or Newport Beach, CA.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in fixed income with a focus on performance management.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics; progress toward CFA/FRM preferred.
• Understanding of equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies.
• Proficiency in SQL is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor and validate portfolio investment results, including attribution and benchmark analysis.
• Ensure the accuracy of performance returns by coordinating with various teams.
• Serve as a point of contact for performance-related issues, ensuring timely solutions.
• Facilitate post-issue root cause analysis discussions to prevent future occurrences.
• Identify potential problems and take corrective actions as needed.
• Recommend and implement ways to streamline and automate reporting processes.
• Document firm processes, performance calculations, and methodologies for internal training.
