Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Winston-Salem, NC, seeks a Performance Excellence Manager to lead quality, lean, and maintenance functions at our manufacturing site. You will set strategy for quality systems, lean transformation, and maintenance operations, building a culture of continuous improvement and customer-focused performance.

This role requires guiding multi-disciplinary teams, coaching leaders, strengthening certifications (ISO 9001/TL 9000), and partnering with HR to grow talent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; minimum 5 years in manufacturing.
• Experience applying quality systems, lean manufacturing, and maintenance strategies.
• Strong statistical and process control knowledge.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead teams; clear direction.
• Effective verbal and written communication across organizational levels.
• Master's degree and ISO 9001/TL 9000 familiarity are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Quality, Lean, and Maintenance functions; set strategic direction.
• Implement system improvements; maintain ISO 9001 and TL 9000 certifications.
• Design and sustain a lean program; track metrics for effectiveness.
• Partner with HR to build a talent pipeline; support training plans.
• Analyze downtime and develop preventative maintenance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance specs with engineering for new machinery.
• Collaborate with supervisors and contractors to drive improvements.
