Job summary

Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. is hiring a Performance Engineer for Wind, Solar and Battery in the United States. You will maintain data quality for US wind, solar and battery assets and develop dashboards for live monitoring and reporting to operations and asset management teams.

Responsibilities include calculating plant metrics, generating reports, and identifying improvements to maximize generation while managing costs and risk. A strong data, analytics, and safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience
• 4+ years of relevant experience in performance engineering for renewables
• Strong understanding of wind, solar and battery energy technologies
• Experience with asset performance tools and data analysis
• Proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus
• Experience with PI and/or SQL is an asset
• Experience with GE, Vestas, or Siemens Gamesa wind farm data is an asset
• Knowledge of data mining, troubleshooting, and reporting

Responsibilities

• Monitor data quality across SCADA and data acquisition systems
• Calculate and report on key plant metrics and generate ad-hoc reports
• Develop dashboards for live monitoring and assessment of wind/solar/battery performance
• Identify and propose improvements to maximize generation while minimizing costs, risk and losses
• Manage availability/production calculations with O&M providers and PPAs
• Prepare regular performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Perform ad hoc data queries to support operations and asset management teams
• Ensure adherence to IEC standards for plant performance
• Validate lost energy calculation methods
• Demonstrate alignment with safety and environmental values
