About Parametric Solutions Inc. (PSI)

Founded in 1993, PSI is a premier gas turbine development firm supporting the aircraft and industrial power industries. Our engineers, technicians, and staff expertly design, analyze, procure, instrument, assemble, and test gas turbine components for military, commercial, and industrial use.

Why Join the PSI Team?

Our culture promotes success through individual contribution and collaborative teamwork. We offer:

  • Diverse Projects: Seamlessly work on a wide range of cutting-edge aerospace and energy projects with the agility to shift disciplines.
  • Growth & Recognition: Benefit from structured annual performance evaluations and direct mentorship opportunities.
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous PTO (Paid Time Off) and flexible working hours.
  • Total Rewards: Competitive compensation + a premier benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and 100% employer-paid Life and Disability Insurance.
Core Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery and engine performance, focusing heavily on thermodynamic modeling, engine cycle analysis, and system integration.

  • Cycle Modeling & Analysis: Perform thermodynamic cycle analysis and develop predictive models (NPSS or similar) to support engine design.
  • Data Correlation & Testing: Correlate predictive models to sparse engine test datasets. Define test objectives, instrumentation requirements, and analyze data to validate performance and diagnose operability issues.
  • System Optimization: Support operability and transient analysis to optimize performance across the engine lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in design reviews and coordinate directly with controls, mechanical, aero, and materials engineering teams.
  • Documentation & Communication: Synthesize complex data to document technical results and provide clear updates to all organizational levels and external customers.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of direct experience in gas turbine performance analysis, aerodynamics design, or a related discipline.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship strictly required due to defense and aerospace compliance framework constraints.
  • Modeling & Tooling: Familiarity with NPSS or similar thermodynamic modeling tools, engine scaling laws, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Engine Knowledge: Deep understanding of component sizing criteria for major engine modules (inlet to exhaust), cooled turbines, cooling flow demand considerations, and their impacts on performance.
  • Soft Skills: Proven self-starter capable of multi-tasking without direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills (A Plus!)
  • Awareness of combustion emissions drivers.
  • Familiarity with compressible flow, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, and related tools.
  • Fundamental understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
