Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a sports performance coach to work with athletes and active individuals to improve performance through personalized training programs and sport-specific assessments. You will conduct initial intake sessions, monitor progress, and tailor goals and programs.

You will demonstrate techniques, educate clients on anatomy and training methods, perform running analyses and metabolic testing, and promote the program to schools and the community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field required.
  • Certifications in Speed and Agility Instruction (ASFA), NSCA CSCS, NASM PES, CCT, CSCS or FMS preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial intake sessions for clients, including phone contacts and orientation.
  • Monitors client response to exercise programs and sets realistic goals.
  • Demonstrates techniques to improve performance with safety in mind.
  • Designs and writes training programs for athletes at various ability levels.
  • Performs running analyses, metabolic testing, and sport-specific assessments.
  • Promotes the program to local athletes, coaches, and the community.
  • Participates in clinic meetings and educational outreach.

Job description

OverviewWork with athletes and active individuals to improve performance, strength, endurance, and overall fitness through personalized training programs and sport-specific assessments. Ability to assist patients on and off equipment, ability to demonstrate resistance training and higher level exercises and techniques.Special Physical DemandsThe Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.This is considered medium strength work exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally or 10-25 pounds of force frequently.
