Responsibilities

• Assist students in scheduling and planning practice sessions and meetings.
• Work positively with the Band Director to determine performance standards for percussion section members.
• Encourage excellence in the performance level of all band students through individual and small group practice sessions, application of sound music theory and technique, and positive instructional techniques.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior, ensuring an orderly, productive environment for all band activities.
• Maintain attendance records and related paperwork.
• Attend marching percussion practice sessions.
• Assume responsibility for the assigned activity area whenever students are present.
• Encourage percussion section to attend percussion clinics.
• Responsible for the selection of the percussion section.
• Adhere to adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
