Job summary

ArcBest is seeking a Robotics Engineer - Perception to design and implement perception pipelines using computer vision, 3D data, and ML techniques. You will work with C++, Python, and CUDA in a collaborative, Agile environment to deliver robust robotic software.

You will participate in requirements, system design, verification, and cross-functional teamwork with leadership and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Master's degree in robotics, electrical engineering or computer science preferred.
• Experience with computer vision or AI related work.
• Strong programming and systems analysis skills; CUDA familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and build robotic software systems that are productive and safe to operate.
• Create advanced algorithms for the purpose of robotic perception.
• Develop software and processes that dictate robotic systems functionality.
• Utilize computer vision algorithms for perception pipelines.
• Utilize 3D point cloud processing for perception pipelines.
• Utilize machine learning algorithms to enhance perception systems for robustness and speed.
• Utilize C, C++, or Python in development stacks.
• Develop and document system requirements and allocate components.
• Maintain knowledge of hydraulics, actuators, sensors, mechanics, and dynamics.
• Implement Agile and CI concepts in software development.
• Develop dynamic simulations and support existing software.
• Support ArcBest and subsidiaries on technical initiatives.
• Direct and manage project development end-to-end with risk assessment.
• Serve as technical support for advanced automation systems.
• Research innovative design and performance of systems.
• Present updates to senior leadership and external customers.
