Job summary

May Mobility seeks a Perception Lead to drive the technical direction of how our autonomous shuttle fleet perceives the world. You will own scene detection, robustness to adverse weather, and major architectural updates to scale the perception stack.

This hands-on role also involves mentoring engineers and delivering production-grade capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test perception features, integrate multimodal models, and ensure safe,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry experience with real-world robot systems and high-quality industrial-grade code.
• Demonstrated experience leading major architectural decisions for perception/autonomy software stacks.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++/Python; Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural updates to the perception stack for scalability, latency, and maintainability across the fleet.
• Design, implement, and test scene detection and runtime activation logic.
• Improve perception robustness under degraded weather and sensor conditions; implement fault detection and graceful degradation.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive testing to meet release schedules.
• Lead data and ML pipelines, including multimodal data alignment for foundation models.
