Job summary

The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is seeking a compassionate Community Based Youth Mentor.

The role involves mentoring youth ages 7 to 18, advocating for their goals, and attending meetings with schools and social services as needed. This per diem position offers after-school hours (3:00pm-8:00pm) on weekdays and weekends as required, with duties including weekly meetings, trainings, and confidential documentation of progress.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalency; some college preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
• Must be self-motivated and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Mentor youth aged 7 to 18 in the community.
• Schedule weekly meetings with youth up to 5 hours per week.
• Attend trainings and staff/supervision meetings.
• Document all work with assigned youth in the community.
