Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a per diem role in Gouverneur Hospital's Radiology department. The position requires performing ultrasound procedures, with independent clinical judgment and collaboration with physicians to ensure high-quality exams.

Responsibilities include patient handling, equipment operation, proper study labeling, and training of students and staff. ARDMS/CCI/ARRT registry must be achieved within 18 months of hire if hired after 08/01/2025.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasound program or equivalent with ultrasound clinical experience.
• Registry with ARDMS/CCI/ARRT required within 18 months of hire if hired after 08/01/2025.
• Ability to perform ultrasound procedures with independent judgment and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician during ultrasound procedures.
• Lifts and moves patients with assistance.
• Labels and processes studies for quality care.
• Operates ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images.
• Communicates with patients, staff, and physicians.
• Maintains equipment and notifies supervisor of deficiencies.
• Manages supplies and orders for the department.
• Trains student ultrasound technologists and staff.
