Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an ultrasound technologist in our Diagnostic Radiology department. The role involves performing quality ultrasound exams and assisting in patient workups under the supervision of the Ultrasound Manager and Chief Technologist.

Candidates should hold ARDMS certification with abdomen specialization and demonstrate solid skills in routine imaging, patient care, and computer/PACS applications. High school diploma required; CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry level standards of routine sonography.
• Active ARDMS certification; abdomen certification. CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality and efficient ultrasound exams for diagnostic workups.
• Follows protocols and physician prescriptions, ensuring accurate patient identification.
• Maintains accurate documentation in medical records and imaging RIS systems.
• Participates in training and continuous learning in sonography and related specialties.
• Adheres to safety policies and uses body mechanics for patient transfer and equipment use.
