Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a skilled ultrasound technologist to perform diagnostic scans across abdomen, OB/GYN and small parts, including breast, vascular and neurosonology procedures. The role supports patient care, safety and workflow within a busy radiology department.

The ultrasound technologist collaborates with radiologists and clinicians, participates in teaching, and contributes to equipment maintenance and records. Weekend/on-call coverage and accurate documentation are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved ultrasound program; ARDMS requirements for Abdomen/OB-GYN registry.
• Working knowledge of ultrasound equipment, scanning techniques, patient care and evaluating patient status.
• Ability to assist radiologists during imaging and interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound scans as ordered by physicians.
• Assists radiologists/clinicians during imaging and interventional procedures.
• Maintains patient care, safety and comfort in the ultrasound department.
• Rotates weekend, on-call and holiday coverage with other sonographers.
• Supports departmental scheduling, clerical tasks, and record keeping.
