St. Joseph's Health in Paterson, New Jersey is seeking an ABA therapist to work directly with children diagnosed with autism. The therapist will implement treatment plans, build rapport with learners and families, and track progress towards goals.
A Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field, along with 2-3 years of relevant experience, is required. The role also includes attending events and maintaining data documentation on treatment sessions.
Works directly with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and their families. The ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapist implements the behavior, treatment plans developed by the BCBA team. Builds a rapport with the learner and works with the learner and family on goals outlined in his/her treatment, behavior plan. Keeps data on all learner and group sessions and tracks progress toward treatment goals. Attends Binder Autism Center program events throughout the year, i.e. picnics, holiday parties, bowling, field trips, etc. Works evenings on a regular basis and weekends as necessary.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, behavior analysis or closely related field and two to three years experience working with children diagnosed with Autism.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of an FBI criminal background check and fingerprinting, with re-screening required every two years in accordance with DHS and DCF regulations.
