Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary - MEI is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technologist to join our Longwood satellite campus. The role involves assisting surgeons and nurses in surgical procedures, preparing the operating room, and maintaining sterile conditions.

The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a preference for those holding a Certified Surgical Technologist credential. Experience in an acute care setting is essential. Join our dedicated team to further your career in surgical technology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting – 2 to 3 years required.

Responsabilités

• Assist surgeons and nurses in various surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies and instruments for surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room and help with positioning.
• Pass instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow proper sterilization techniques.
• Maintain documentation of surgical procedures.

Connaissances

Knowledge of SPD sterile room procedures

Ability to multitask

Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures

Familiarity with medical terminology
