Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary - MEI is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technologist to join our Longwood satellite campus. The role involves assisting surgeons and nurses in surgical procedures, preparing the operating room, and maintaining sterile conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting – 2 to 3 years required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and nurses in various surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies and instruments for surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room and help with positioning.
• Pass instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow proper sterilization techniques.
• Maintain documentation of surgical procedures.

Skills

Knowledge of SPD sterile room procedures

Ability to multitask

Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures

Familiarity with medical terminology
