Job summary

Cayuga Health in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technologist to join the Surgicare team at 10 Arrow Wood. You will support the operating room team across procedures, ensuring instrument sets and supplies are ready.

NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred or 2-year Surgical Tech program with eligibility within 12 months. Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for extended periods. Per diem schedule with on-site shifts.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred or graduate of an Accredited 2-Year Surgical Technology program (AAS) and eligible for certification within 12 months.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and endure long periods standing.
• Onsite role at Surgicare - 10 Arrow Wood, with Per Diem schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintains operative care standards according to AORN guidelines.
• Prepares and stocks rooms, cleans equipment, and assists with supplies per surgeon/anesthesia needs.
• Assists with patient positioning, surgical hand scrubs, counts, and Time Out procedures.
• Identifies safety hazards, follows universal precautions and infection control protocols.
• Organizes tasks to meet patient and unit needs, adapts to changes and keeps education up to date.
