Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist required upon hire.
• Completion of a surgical tech training course required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• State of New Hampshire Medical Technicians License Registration RSA 310:8 required within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong, positive, and flexible interpersonal skills in a professional, confidential manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon as surgical technologist according to standards.
• Set up sterile back table, instruments and supplies for each operation.
• Anticipate needs of the physician in instruments, sutures, and supplies.
• Observe patient and be ready for emergencies.
• Maintain correct count of sponges, needles and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Perform surgical time outs and support on-call duties.
• Scrub and gown/drape per performance standards.
• Prepare room and equipment for endoscopic procedures.
