Job summary

TBH is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technologist in New York to join a medical team providing surgical care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, surgeon, or other healthcare professionals. The role focuses on facilitating safe and efficient invasive procedures and supporting the operative team with equipment, supplies, and aseptic technique.

Ideal candidates will have completed a Surgical Technologist program, 1–2 years of OR experience, and hold a CST credential with current BCLS.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program.
• One to two years of operating room experience.
• Hold and maintain a CST credential.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Ability to perform arithmetic and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist during invasive surgical procedures under supervision.
• Provide equipment and sterile supplies to the surgical team.
• Maintain aseptic technique and patient safety.

• Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Program


• One (1) to two (2) years of operating experience – REQUIRED


• Hold and maintain a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting


• OR


• Incumbents to the Position as of January 1, 2015: Provides evidence was employed as Surgical Technologist in healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one (1) year, occurring within the four (4) years immediately prior to January 1, 2015


• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)


• Demonstrated ability to do arithmetic and communicate in oral or written English
