Job summary

The Center for Specialized Surgery at Ft. Myers, operated under Regent Surgical Health, seeks a Certified Surgical Technician to support the surgeon, RN, and anesthesiologist in the OR. The CST scrubs, assists circulator, prepares and breaks down procedures, and handles supplies.

This per diem position requires CST certification, accredited training, and BLS as per ASC policy; one year of OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent and CST certification.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical tech program.
• BLS certification may be required by ASC policy.
• Preferred: 1 year OR Surgical Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplies, equipment, and instruments are ready for use.
• Restock operating rooms to meet par levels.
• Assist other operating rooms for coverage.
• Follow sterile technique and safety protocols.
• Prepare cases for the next day.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and/or assistant as appropriate.
• Verify name, procedure, and site.
• Maintain instrument integrity and counts of sponges/sharps.
• Prepare and preserve specimens as needed.
• Assist with patient transport and OR restock.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
