Required NBSTSA Surgical First Assistant certification, completion of a surgical program, and a high school diploma. Prior experience in multiple specialties is preferred. Per diem schedule varies by case load and facility needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical program required.
• NBSTSA Surgical First Assistant certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons by handing instruments, holding incisions, and dressing wounds.
• Cauterize wounds and vessels; pack sponges; position patient for access.
• Place clamps and sutures; close skin with adhesives or staples; ensure sterile technique.
