Job summary

LearnWell is seeking a passionate and creative substitute teacher to join our team in the Central Connecticut State area on a per-diem basis to support students in a behavioral health facility with on-site educational services. The role requires a B.A./B.S.

and a CT State teaching license, with comfort in working with K-12 students, strong organizational skills, and the ability to deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized support, and communicate progress while maintaining attendance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited institution.
• CT State teaching license.
• Comfortable working with K-12 students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans.
• Provide individualized assistance to students.
• Regularly communicate about student progress.
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success.
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.

For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative substitute teacher to join our team in the Central Connecticut State area on a per-diem basis to help with class coverages for the school year. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
