Job summary

Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant student to support the Med Surg Unit 9-2A. The Per Diem schedule involves assisting RN staff with routine patient care, documenting data, and maintaining patient comfort and safety on shift.

The employee introduces themselves as a Nursing Student II, communicates with the RN throughout the shift, and responds promptly to patient needs while following hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Under the direction of the RN, performs delegated patient care interventions.
• Collects and records patient data following hospital standards.
• Uses medical abbreviations per hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the RN to determine work assignments and priorities.
• Maintains timely verbal communication with RN about patient condition.
• Identifies self as a Nursing student and introduces self to patient.
• Accurately records vital signs, intake/output, and other data.
• Interprets medical terminology per policy.
• Responds promptly to patient call lights and seeks help as needed.
• Conducts routine patient room rounds to address needs.
• Provides or assists with basic patient hygiene.
