Job summary

Shriners Children's Chicago Honolulu, HI is seeking a per diem Sterile Processing Tech I to join Surgical Services. The candidate will process and sterilize instruments, maintain quality controls, and support perioperative workflow.

Required: HS diploma/GED and 1 year experience. Preferred CSPDT certification and 2 years in central supply or instrumentation; orthopedic exposure is a plus. Pay range $19.56‑$24.45/hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in sterile processing.
• Preferred CSPDT certification and 2 years in central supply or surgical instrumentation; orthopedic exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Selects appropriate sterilization/disinfection technique for items.
• Maintains sterilization and environment quality controls.
• Decontaminates, processes, stores sterile instrumentation and equipment for intraoperative use.
• Collaborates with OR staff to support all perioperative phases and turnovers.
• Maintains records of maintenance on sterilization equipment and instruments.
• Manages surgical inventory and performs routine tasks as assigned.
