Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital seeks an experienced research professional to lead and implement original scientific projects in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. You will supervise lab personnel and guide project strategy, while participating in grant writing and preparing scientific papers.

This role involves coordinating technical meetings, presenting findings, and contributing to collaborations, with the understanding that this is not a faculty-level position at BCH or HMS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a STEM field is required.
• At least 7 years of original and relevant research experience.
• Experience with grant proposals and preparing scientific papers is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership and guide a research team in developing original projects.
• Collaborate with the PI to write and plan grant proposals and coordinate technical meetings/symposia.
• Oversee lab personnel and advise on core management with decision-making latitude.
• Prepare scientific papers and presentations with the PI as needed.
• This is not a faculty-level position at BCH or HMS.

Position Summary

Works with PI in determining original scientific research projects' goals, methodologies, and deliverables. Leads and implements research under the PI's guidance. Guides and/or supervises research lab personnel at the direction of the faculty PI. Participates in writing grant proposals, and planning and implementing technical meetings and symposia. Collaborates with PI in preparing scientific papers, and presentations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the Principal Investigator (PI) provides scientific expertise and leads and guides a research team in the development of original scientific research at BCH.
• Conducts autonomous work and contributes to the development of research projects' strategy and outcome.
• Collaborates with PI in preparing scientific papers as needed. May participate in the writing of grant proposals, technical meetings, and symposia.
• This role may manage and/or advise lab personnel and have latitude in decision-making, including a role in the management of departmental or institutional cores.
• The individual remains under the supervision of a PI and is generally not expected to submit grants as a PI, except for those grants that might not require faculty rank for submission.
• This is not considered a faculty-level position at BCH or HMS.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• A master's degree in a STEM field

Experience:

• At least 7 years original and relevant research of experience.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
