Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited ultrasound program or registration with a minimum of 2 years ultrasound experience required.
• Registered in Abdomen and/or OB/GYN required.
• BLS certification required.
• Maintains professional credentials related to Sonography and participates in continuing education activities.
• BS degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound preferred.
• Minimum of one year Ultrasound experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs patient assessments, acquires and analyzes data obtained using ultrasound and related diagnostic technologies, and provides a summary of findings to the physician to aid in patient diagnosis and management.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and exhibits flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.
• Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with all team members and medical staff.
• Protects the confidentiality of sensitive information including patients, staff, and the health system.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of the patient, understanding growth and development across the life span and interpreting data relative to age-specific needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of EMR modules and the PACS system.
