Job summary
The Arboretum of Winnie is seeking a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our in-house team serving residents with person-centered care in Texas. The SLP will evaluate swallowing and cognitive deficits, set individualized treatment plans, and implement AAC solutions, while educating residents and caregivers.
Active Texas licensure, ASHA certification, and good standing with regulatory boards are required.
Qualifications
- Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current ASHA Certification.
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents' conditions for swallowing or cognitive deficits.
- Assist residents in achieving goals to improve cognition or swallowing.
- Educate residents and caregivers on their conditions and therapy plans.
- Provide skilled, medically necessary SLP assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement AAC systems for individuals with expressive or language disorders.
- Provide training to clients, families, caregivers and professionals as needed.
- Coordinate with clinicians for swallowing procedures (MBSS/FEES) as ordered.
- Demonstrate competent clinical skills according to SLP standards of practice.
- Communicate changes in residents' condition promptly.
- Maintain accurate billing and clinical documentation.
