Job summary

The Senior Trauma Tech at University of California - Irvine Health coordinates and performs technical duties in the Emergency Department to support patient care and flow. You will assist with triage, obtain vital signs and specimens, and support physicians during exams while managing supplies and equipment.

This role requires EMT or Paramedic license, PMAB training within 30 days, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in an acute care environment in Orange County.

Qualifications

Your Role on the Team

The Senior Trauma Tech is responsible for coordinating and performing a broad range of technical duties supporting the patient care in ED services to facilitate patient flow, including but not limited to: assisting with patient triage; obtaining vital signs and specimens; assisting the physician with the application and removal of casts, splints and wound care; providing support to physicians during patient exams; assisting patients with hygiene, elimination and comfort measures; preparing patients for transport. Will maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, performing quality control and basic troubleshooting of equipment.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications

• Preventative Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) within 30 days of hire
• Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Minimum 2 years of related experience as an Emergency/Trauma Technician
• EMT and/or Paramedic license

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
• Bilingual skill, either Spanish or Vietnamese to communicate effectively with patients and families.
