Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County, CA, seeks a Senior Trauma Tech to coordinate and perform a broad range of ED support duties. You will assist with triage, vital signs, specimen collection, casts, wound care, and patient transport prep, while aiding physicians during exams and maintaining equipment.

Your Role on the Team
Position Summary

The Senior Trauma Tech is responsible for coordinating and performing a broad range of technical duties supporting the patient care in ED services to facilitate patient flow, including but not limited to: assisting with patient triage; obtaining vital signs and specimens; assisting the physician with the application and removal of casts, splints and wound care; providing support to physicians during patient exams; assisting patients with hygiene, elimination and comfort measures; preparing patients for transport. Will maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, performing quality control and basic troubleshooting of equipment.

What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications
  • Preventative Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience as an Emergency/Trauma Technician
  • EMT and/or Paramedic license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Bilingual skill, either Spanish or Vietnamese to communicate effectively with patients and families.
