Job summary

Effective School Solutions seeks a Per Diem Licensed School-Based Mental Health Clinician to deliver school-based mental health services, including individual, group, and family therapy, within K–12 settings. You will collaborate with families, school staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated student care and safety.

Role emphasizes flexible scheduling, risk assessment, evidence-based treatment planning, and ongoing professional development, with supervision and consultation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• Active clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) in the state of practice.
• 4+ years of experience with children/adolescents with behavioral and emotional needs.
• 2+ years supervising staff in a clinical setting; supervision cert preferred.
• Experience training educational professionals and parents/caregivers on student mental health.
• Experience working with schools, families, and community services.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and school staff.
• Commitment to evidence-based care and best practices.
• Proven ability to influence, motivate, and elevate team members.
• Ability to make confident decisions in evolving situations.
• Proficient in clinical documentation and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide school-based mental health services including individual, group, and family therapy and assessments.
• Partner with families and facilitate parent support programming.
• Conduct risk assessments and crisis intervention; coordinate referrals to higher care when needed.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for student success.
• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of the assigned school program.
• Serve as primary clinical contact for school partners and guide student support strategies.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to clinicians.
• Facilitate weekly consultations to align on goals and documentation.
• Collaborate with families and school staff for coordinated care; train on trauma-informed practices.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development.
