Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Per Diem in Hackensack, NJ to deliver direct patient care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. This role supports the expansion of nursing knowledge and high-quality care, with per diem scheduling.

You will collect data, perform age- and disease-specific assessments, develop and implement a care plan, and communicate with patients and families while documenting in the system and administering medications with barcode scanning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma in nursing required.
• BSN in progress or willingness to obtain within three years of hire.
• Six months of relevant nursing experience or Nurse Residency participation.
• Current NJ RN license and BLS/CPR certification within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize changes in clinical and diagnostic status.
• Develop a plan of care with strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient, family, and team.
• Implement age- and disease-specific care in an organized manner.
• Perform continuous point-of-care electronic documentation.
• Administer medications utilizing barcode scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
