Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Registered Nurse for per diem night shifts in Hackensack, NJ. The RN will collect data, perform assessments, and coordinate care within an interdisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include administering medications with bar-scanning tech, updating families, and maintaining ANA Code of Ethics. Requires NJ RN license, BLS/CPR, and 6+ months of experience or Nurse Residency completion.

Qualifications

• Associate in Nursing or diploma required.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• Six months or more of relevant nursing experience or completion of Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency Program.
• Current and valid RN license in New Jersey; BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of hire; national certification in specialty preferred when eligible.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data relevant to patient health or situation.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize status changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Identify education needs for patient and family based on age and disease.
• Develop and coordinate a patient/family centered plan of care.
• Communicate and implement the plan of care effectively.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes and adjust care as needed.
