Job summary

DESC’s Crisis Solutions Center and ORCA Center in Seattle are seeking a Registered Nurse to join a multi-disciplinary team providing ongoing case management and nursing services to adults experiencing homelessness and opioid use disorder. The RN coordinates medication services, administers treatments, and supports clinical care under supervision of nursing leadership.

Responsibilities include patient education, health promotion activities, MOUD initiation, and collaboration with behavioral

Qualifications

• RN licensed in the State of Washington and in good standing.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side effects and administration.
• Interest or experience working with adults who are homeless and disabled by mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Flexibility and ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in addiction medicine and harm reduction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical aspects of care, including monitoring and administration of medications.
• Provide education to clients about their treatment, medical and mental health conditions.
• Develop and engage clients in health promotion activities and disease prevention.
• Assess mental status and monitor treatment effects and side effects.
• Provide training and consultation to staff on medical/mental health issues.
• Participate in clinical reviews, case conferences, and quality assurance processes.
• Maintain current and complete clinical records and comply with policies.
