Job summary

Heywood Healthcare in Massachusetts is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct care per diem across days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. This role requires current MA licensure and enrollment in a respiratory therapy program.

Under supervision of a registered respiratory therapist, you will perform oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, CPT, administer meds, and document patient progress while collaborating with the care team to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Enrollment in a MA Respiratory Therapy program is required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and evaluates information from the patient interview and other sources.
• Ensures patient exams, tests and procedures align with patient needs and orders.
• Identifies variations from expected findings and takes appropriate action.
• Plans for and provides patient teaching.
• Coordinates with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Under supervision of Respiratory Therapists, delivers respiratory care and administers therapies.
• Documents treatments and patient responses; reports to the respiratory therapist, nurse, and physician.
