Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in New York. The role focuses on patient airway management, ventilation support, and collaboration with physicians and the care team to ensure high-quality care.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, NYS licensure, NBRC credentialing, and BLS certification, with a preference for candidates with critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA, JRCTE, or CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program with a minimum of an associate’s degree.
• NYS Respiratory Therapist license
• Credentialed RRT/CRT by the NBRC
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• One year of critical care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriateness of therapy and consult with physicians to clarify or modify orders.
• Provide verbal and written educational materials to patients when appropriate.
• Document critical values per policy in the patient record.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses and health care team in emergencies to support decision making.
• Maintain airway care, including intubation, tracheostomy care, and extubation when appropriate.
